Application Configurator / Business Analyst
Reporting To: Director and Client Management
Scope and Purpose:
Asymilate is niche market consultancy specialising in the delivery and implementation services of Front / Middle and Back Office package software to the wholesale banking community. Main Responsibilities /
Deliverables:
- Work with business analysts, users, developers and testers of treasury and risk management systems to investigate the impact of application configuration changes from a business and systems perspective
- Document the impact of the changes in a clear and concise manner so that it is understood by all users of the system.
- Investigate improvements to the system after detailed analysis
- Prototype different scenarios in a development environment and work with developers and business analysts to understand the full impact of such a change
- Understand the application quickly and offer training to project members
- Guide new users in the application usage
- Implement changes to production / test/ developments after thorough testing
- Assist with change control, environment management and production support queries
Experience and Competencies:
- Strong system analysis skills
- Strong analysis and investigative ability
- Passion to work with third party software packages and quickly come up to speed on their usage though self analysis and prototyping. Packages such as SAP, Wall Street, Algorithmics, Sungard products an advantage
- Ability to work hands on to investigate problems and find resolution
- Financial Markets Experience preferable.
- Self starter, resourceful with strong energy and drive to diagnose problems independently
- Ability to work as part of a small (initially) team with the flexibility to take ownership for areas beyond their immediate capabilities
- Good interpersonal and presentation skills which will facilitate communication at all levels within client organisations.
- Focus on high levels of Client Delivery.
Education:
The successful candidate is likely to have a good degree in a scientific subject and be amongst the high performers in their chosen field.
